Imagine your child has just been diagnosed with a disease you’ve never heard of, one of the few cases in Richmond (or Virginia), one that will require constant doctor’s visits, treatment plans, medications, and potential changes to the home to be accommodating for their symptoms?
Your doctor can answer your questions about medical care. But what about other areas of life? How will this impact your child’s education, their social life, their day-to-day living? How should you and your family be planning to make changes to work schedules to take on these new challenges?
No family should have to take on a complex medical diagnosis alone. That’s why I joined Better2gether RVA, which provides the answers and support to families going through this difficult time, coordinates resources for these families, and has a network of others who have faced these challenges before and can offer advice.
We have a tremendous opportunity this November as one of twenty charities benefiting from M4K Richmond's annual mustache growing month to raise funds that will help the organization continue to keep those children and their families thriving. And as one of the Growers for the Better2gether team, you’ll also have the opportunity to make fun of me (to my face!) throughout the month as I attempt to cultivate some hair above my lip. All that I ask is that you put your money where your mouth is - toss in some money with those insults. Remember - it’s 4 the kids!
