SCAN advances its mission through five programs—the Child Advocacy Center, Family Support Program, Community Programs, Richmond CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), and Circle Preschool Program—which work together to provide the support, treatment, education, and advocacy needed to help build safe, stable, nurturing homes for children and to lessen the negative impact of family violence and trauma on victims, families, and the community at large. The purpose of SCAN's services is to promote positive parenting, strengthen families, and help create a community that values and cares for its children.
